There are so many ways we can use language to create amazing images.

One particular technique is called personification.

Personification is when something non-human is given human attributes, emotions or actions.

For example:

The trees danced in the wind.

Or...

The car coughed to life.

Trees can't actually 'dance' and cars can't 'cough', so the technique of personification has been used to give them human characteristics.
