In this activity, we will be learning about the months of the year and looking at the order of them.
First of all, let's have a look at the months of the year in order:
January
February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September
October
November
December
Let's have a little look at which months are which:
January and February are winter months which are cold and they start the year off.
March and April are spring months as the days get a little lighter and warmer. Easter is around this time.
June and July are summer months and the days can be quite warm.
August and September are the end of summer and the start of autumn and it starts to cool down.
October and November are getting colder again and we have events like Halloween and fireworks.
December is winter and it can be quite cold and this is the month that has Christmas.
Some other words we will use in this activity are:
before
after
Before means the month that has already been, so the month before September is August.
After means the month that will come next, so the month after September is October.
Ok, are you ready to have a go at some of these questions?
