Worksheet Overview

sentence is a group of words with a capital letter and full stop and it needs to make sense.

litter of kittens

This sentence does not make sense:

Kittens four there are.

We can change the words to make sure it makes sense.

A sentence also needs a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end.

There are four kittens.

We can make the sentence longer by adding a joining word such as and

A longer sentence is called a compound sentence.

Here, we can use the word and to join these two short sentences.

There are four kittens.  They are brown and fluffy.

There are four kittens and they are brown and fluffy.

Let's have a go at some questions to practise writing a sentence.
