Understand Word Meaning in Jane Austen's Novels Using Context Clues

When we are reading, we sometimes come across new words. We can often work out what a word means by the context, which means using the words around it to work out what it means.

In this activity, we will be reading classical literary extracts written by Jane Austen. We will be looking at each underlined word and by reading the rest of the paragraph we will work out the meaning of the new word in its context.
