Worksheet Overview

Do you think you're a good detective?

Sometimes when we are reading, we are not told everything.

We have to use clues from the information that has been given to us to help us figure out more.

For example, we might not be told what someone's job is, but we might be given clues to help us work it out. Let's put our detective hat on and see if we can spot the clues!

Darah put on an apron, picked up a whisk and some eggs.

What do you think Darah's job is?

1) A baker

2) A police officer

What do you think? What are your clues?

Darah is a baker based on the things that she is wearing and has picked up.

A police officer would look a bit silly walking around with some eggs!

Right, let's go detective - have a go at using clues in the text to answer some similar questions.
