Standard measurements of length are millimetre (mm), centimetre (cm), metre (m), kilometre (km)

10 mm = 1 cm

100 cm = 1 m

1000 m = 1 km

To change from a larger unit to a smaller unit:

Change 0.27 km to metres.

0.27 km = 0.27 × 1000 m = 270 m

Change 54 mm to cm.

54 mm = 54 ÷ 10 cm = 5.4 cm
