When we are doing a longer piece of writing, it is important to sequence sentences in the right order.
One idea needs to follow another in a logical order so that it makes sense.
This is important when we want to write about something that happened or tell a short story.
These events are sequenced in the correct order:
Waking up Going to school Going to bed
These numbers are sequenced in the wrong order and do not make sense:
Two eight three six one four seven five ten nine
These numbers are sequenced in the right order:
One two three four five six seven eight nine ten
We can sequence short simple sentences.
They cooked the soup. They ate it for lunch.
The sequence is in the correct order as you need to cook the soup before eating it.
In this activity, you can practise putting words and sentences into the correct sequence so that they make sense.
