Worksheet Overview

In this activity, we will look at recognising and describing rotations.

When we rotate (turn) a shape, there are several important points we need to know or find out!

1) Where is the centre of rotation?

This is the point from which we rotate the shape.

2) Which direction?

Clockwise or anticlockwise?

3) How many degrees is the rotation?

The most common ones are 90o, 180o and 270o

Let's have a look at a typical question!

Example

Shape A has been rotated.

Write down the centre of rotation, the direction of rotation and the number of degrees.

Next, we can see the shape has turned 90o
