Proofreading has the power to change your writing.
When you have finished your writing, it’s always a good idea to go back and check it to make sure that it makes sense and there aren't any mistakes.
This is what we call proofreading.
When we proofread we are looking for:
Spelling mistakes
Correct punctuation
Capital letters for names and beginnings of sentences
Correct verb tense
Words like:
‘went’ as the past tense of ‘go’ not ‘goed’.
‘built’ as the past tense of build not ‘builded’
‘grew’ as the past tense of ‘grow’
Be sure to not just add ‘ed’ to the end of a verb - it isn’t always right!
In this activity, we will practise spotting mistakes and fixing them. Good luck!
