How much money do they need altogether?
Answer
We need to find 3 lots of £3 to find the answer
3 + 3 + 3 = 9
They need £9 altogether.
If they pay with a £20 note, how much change will they get?
Answer
We know they spend £9, so we need to subtract this from £20 to find the answer.
20 - 9 = 11
They receive £11 change.
