Worksheet Overview

A suffix is a letter or group of letters added to the end of a word. Knowing what a suffix means can help us to understand new words.

For example, the suffix -ly often tells us how something is done, and often turns a word into an adverb.

If a class is quiet while they are sitting on the carpet we say that they are sitting quietly.

children sitting on floor

If the word ends in -y we have to change it to 'i' before we add the suffix.
