Add Apostrophes to Show Possession

In this worksheet, students will revise using the apostrophe to show possession.

Worksheet Overview

In this activity, we are going to use apostrophes to indicate possession.

One way in which apostrophes are used is to show possession, which means who something belongs to.

dog with bone in his mouth

For example:

'the dog's bone' = the bone belonging to the dog

Sometimes, the thing being owned can be a little hard to spot.

For example: my dad's idea. The 'idea' doesn't exactly belong to dad, but it did come from him!

Let's investigate apostrophes in more depth in the following video and then get started on the questions.
