Imagine a big, tall mountain in the great outdoors. It's like a giant rock covered in lots of different kinds of plants. As you go up the mountain, the air gets colder, and you start seeing more rocks and less trees.
These rocks have been there for a very long time, and they look all bumpy and rough. Some colourful stuff called lichen grows on the rocks, making them pretty.
When you're near the top, everything below you looks small, like toys. You can see rivers winding through valleys and green forests like big blankets.
At the very top of the mountain, you get the most amazing view. It's like you can see the whole world. The mountain reminds us how beautiful and big our natural world is.
