We are humans - so we are animals. We share our world with loads and loads of other animals, some big, some small.
There are lots and lots of plants too.
You are beginning to learn the names of some of those plants and animals that live near you.
Let's have a look at some of the living things that we find around us.
These are buttercups. They are small, wild flowers that can often be found growing in fields. They are yellow like butter.
A snail is easy to spot because they have a beautiful shell. We often see snails in our gardens and parks.
These leaves are dark green and spiky and the plant grows with red berries. It is called holly. Holly stays green all year round!
This is an oak tree. Oak trees can live for a very long time, which means they can grow really big.
We usually find these when we are digging in mud or lifting up logs in the woodlands. It is a woodlouse.
In this activity, some of the living things we have looked at will come up again but there will also be some that might be new to you.
This will help us to learn some new ones that we may not know.
Happy hunting!
