Identify Literary and Rhetorical Devices

Whether you are writing a fiction or a non-fiction text, the devices you use to communicate with your reader are extremely important. 

A device is a technique used to create an image, sound or feeling in the reader.

In this activity, we will look at some commonly used literary devices in fiction, and some rhetorical devices in non-fiction. You might start to recognise the effect that using these devices has on a reader.
