Identify Square And Cube Numbers

In this activity, we will look at square numbers and cube numbers.  

Let us first look at square numbers. A square number is the answer to a number multiplied by itself. 

Example 

 5² this reads 5 squared which means 5 x 5 

We know that 5 x 5 = 25.

So, 25 is a square number. 

Below are the first ten square numbers. 

 A cube number is the answer to a number multiplied by itself three times. 

Example 

 4³ This reads 4 cubed which means 4 x 4 x 4. 

We know that 4 x 4 x 4 = 64.

So, 64 is a cube number. 

Below are the first ten cube numbers.
