In this activity, we will learn how to put integers in decreasing order of size.
The further to the right we move from zero, the larger the numbers get, e.g. 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 etc.
The further to the left we move from zero, the smaller the numbers get, e.g. 0, -5, -10, -15, -20 etc.
but the digits get larger, as the number gets smaller!
Example
Arrange the following integers in decreasing order, starting with the largest.
48, 56, 14, -35, 2, -15
Answer
56, 48, 14, 2, -15, -35
Does that make sense?
Let's have a go at some questions on this now.
