In this activity we're going to find out about skeletons, what they're made of, and why they're important to the animals that have them.
As a human being, you have a skeleton, of course!
The skeleton is your body's framework that supports and protects you. Without your skeleton, you would be a rather a blobby mess on the floor!
Believe it or not, bones are harder than concrete and longer lasting. They have to be tough and strong because they carry the weight of your body.
Did you know that your skeleton contains 206 bones?!
So, let's use this activity to firm up what you understand about what skeletons are and what they do for animals' bodies.
