We ensure that all of our counting worksheets are completely aligned with the National Curriculum, and given their ranging support from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, can help your child wherever they are in their educational journey. Helping your child to more easily grasp addition worksheets, subtraction worksheets, money worksheets and more, counting worksheets are arguably one of the most important resources for your child - with counting activities that are designed to be as fun as they are useful!

Key Stage 1 counting worksheets is where the fun really starts; your child will be first introduced to counting in basic forms to help them build the foundations of their counting skills. Year 1 counting worksheets teach your child how to count and write, as well as arrange, the first 20 numbers. They should learn how to count both forwards and backwards in different intervals, starting with counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. They should also be able to apply their newfound knowledge of counting to real life scenarios, including counting different objects.

Our year 2 counting worksheets continue to build on the knowledge your child should have learnt in year 1 - revising and practicing their basic counting skills as well as introducing new concepts and levels of difficulty will help your child progress. Our counting worksheets will help your child begin to be able to count forwards and backwards in 3s, and should be able to arrange a sequence of numbers in ascending and descending order. Our counting worksheets will also teach your child how to use number lines to identify missing numbers will also help to develop their knowledge and understanding of how numbers work in sequences, which will also help them to independently solve counting questions. /span>

By the time they reach Key Stage 2 counting worksheets, your child should be able to confidently and independently count in different intervals and work with number sequences to identify missing numbers. Year 3 counting worksheets bump up the difficulty a notch, introducing counting activities that work with counting money - learning how to give change from different denominations of money including £5, £10 and £20, as well as having an understanding of how many pence make up different amounts of money.

Year 4 counting worksheets advance your child’s knowledge of counting money, helping them to revise their previous knowledge using a variety of money problems. Their counting skills will also be put to the test when it comes to bigger intervals - counting forwards and backwards in multiples of 25 and 100 will be introduced, and for the first time, our counting worksheets will teach your child to be able to count backwards and into negative numbers. Year 5 counting worksheets introduce the most complex topics, counting in powers of 10 and in multiples of 1000, 10,000 and 100,000. They should be confident when ordering sequences of numbers and using counting activities to help them work out problems independently. This gradual introduction of new topics and persistent revision of previous knowledge using our counting worksheets will give your child a great understanding of counting, and how it can be used in different ways.
