Correct Errors in Subject Verb Agreement

In this worksheet, students will develop their skills in correcting errors in subject verb agreement - with both regular and irregular verbs.

Worksheet Overview

Whenever you are writing, it is important to make sure that your work makes sense.

One of the first things to check for in your writing is whether you have subject and verb agreement.

This is when the subject (what the sentence is about) agrees with (matches) the verb (the action being done).

We get this correct more easily in speech than in writing, so a good trick is to read your sentences out loud to check!

In this activity, you will see sentences and have to decide which is the correct verb to use to ensure that the subject and verb agree!
