Worksheet Overview

Circuits are a great way to find out about how electricity works, at a basic level.  You can also find out about loads of different components.

A simple circuit is built using a power source - we use batteries because they are safe.  Then wires carry the electrical energy from the source to the device that's plugged into the circuit, like a bulb (lamp) or a buzzer.

We can use a switch in the circuit so that the device can be turned on/off without having to disconnect the battery. The switch also allows us to save energy.

Devices in a circuit change the electrical energy into light, sound or movement.

Right, with those basics about electrical circuits in mind, let's have a look at how to put them together.
