OCR GCSE Content of Spoken Language Revision

OCR split their English Language GCSE across two equally weighted papers. Both have a time-limit of two hours. Paper 1 focuses on non-fiction texts. Students must compare two texts, one from the 19th century and one from the 20th or 21st centuries, and then produce some non-fiction writing. Paper 2 focuses on literary prose texts. It requires students to compare two fiction extracts and produce a piece of creative writing. All texts used are unseen, which means students will probably not have encountered them before. There is also an internally assessed speaking and listening component which is unweighted.

EdPlace’s GCSE exam-style questions and practice papers help your child hone their exam-technique and prepare them for anything the exam may throw at them.
